Assessment

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) assessment is a holistic and student-focused approach. It aims to measure academic success while encouraging critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world problem-solving.

Key Features

Criterion-Referenced Assessment

Criterion-Referenced Assessment

IB MYP assessments are based on set criteria rather than comparing students against each other. This ensures fair and accurate evaluation of individual performance.

Subject-Specific Criteria

Subject-Specific Criteria

Each subject has specific assessment criteria that focus on key skills, with clear objectives that allow students to understand what is expected of them.

Formative Assessment

Formative Assessment

Regular assessments during learning help teachers monitor understanding and adapt lessons for better student outcomes. These are low-stakes checks like quizzes or discussions.

Summative Assessment

Summative Assessment

Summative assessments, such as end-of-unit tasks, projects, and written tests, focus on evaluating student achievement at the end of a learning period.

Interdisciplinary Projects

Interdisciplinary Projects

These projects encourage students to integrate knowledge across subjects, fostering critical thinking and a deeper understanding of real-world issues.

Personalized Feedback

Personalized Feedback

Teachers provide constructive feedback to students, helping them recognize strengths and areas for improvement, leading to continuous growth.

Personal Project

Personal Project

Students engage in this project as a culminating experience in MYP-5 (Grade 10). Driven by their passions, they establish challenging goals and work towards achieving them with guidance from assigned teacher supervisors or mentors. It lasts approximately 8 months. Students showcase their outcomes through exhibitions open to the community. The IB externally moderates the projects, issuing certificates upon completion.

Focus on ATL Skills
